Kolam introduced me to a different side of marketing—one that happened long before a campaign was ever launched.
Working across marketing and business strategy, I supported projects that required understanding industries, identifying market opportunities, and translating research into actionable insights. Rather than creating outward-facing campaigns, much of my work focused on helping leadership make informed decisions through data, competitive intelligence, and strategic planning.
One of my primary responsibilities involved researching the industrial pump market, evaluating competitors, identifying trends, and analyzing how Kolam could better position itself within an evolving landscape. I transformed these findings into interactive Power BI dashboards that gave leadership a clearer view of performance metrics, competitive positioning, and business opportunities.
More recently, I have been involved in shaping a new brand experience service, contributing to market research, brainstorming sessions, customer journey discussions, and early-stage service planning. While much of this work happens behind the scenes, it reinforced an important lesson: successful brands are built not only through creative execution, but through thoughtful strategy, continuous research, and informed decision-making.
Although quieter than many of my other experiences, Kolam became the place where I first learned how analytics, business strategy, and marketing come together to solve complex problems—an experience that ultimately inspired my decision to pursue a Master’s in Business Analytics.
Kolam was one of my first experiences working extensively with Power BI, giving me an early appreciation for how data visualization can transform large volumes of information into clear business insights. It also marked the beginning of my transition from purely creative marketing work toward analytics and strategy.
